We just got back from the Renaissance Festival here in Charlotte, NC. About midway through the park, there in the center of the way, a talented harpist poured out her renditions. She was selling her $15 dollar CD’s and engaging the crowd with thoughtful banter between songs. I didn’t buy a CD, but did tip her a buck. I wondered if her music was available in iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, Last.fm, etc. If it were I could listen to it at home, where the din of the festival wouldn’t interfere and my surround system would envelope me in orchestral bliss. Hopefully one day it’ll be there and all of us can enjoy her music not only once a year in a noisy crowded festival, but every day in our own homes.
